Well it was all about the rain today at Easton Primary Academy! After getting kitted out in wellies, over trousers and raincoats, we headed outside. First stop, the deepest puddles we could find for a bit of stomping, followed by rolling down the hill amongst the raindrops. We even managed to catch rain on our tongue.
The children worked extremely hard creating some beautiful puppets. They were taught to join two sticks together using a Japanese square lashing, to create the body. They then used clay to create the head and decorated them with twigs and other treasures from the woodland. The children were then very excited about using the puppets in our Forest School puppet theatre. We were all treated to some wonderful performances!
Some of the children were keen to play on the rope swing and before long it was suggested that we put up a new one in a different location. One boy was shown how to use the loppers and did a thorough job clearing a site for the new swing.
We were all very grateful for our hot chocolate and enjoyed listening to the raindrops hitting the tarp, as we ate our biscuits.
Before long it was time to return to class, with another chance to splash in the puddles along the way.
Is it really week six next week?!
